Snapshots of Our Life in Mission: First Week in Costa Rica

Gabriel's first Costa Rican "bath" in the laundry sink

He wasn't a big fan!

Hanging clothes is part of the laundry everyday.
It's very humid so the clothes are often damp for a long time.

Catherine loving this place!
Who wouldn't be happy riding bikes and climbing trees?

Pablo picked this beautiful and delicious pineapple
from his garden for us! So sweet!

Our 7 plus 7 family as Pablo calls it!
(Each of our families have 7 people)

We are enjoying a delicious meal of black beans, white rice, salad,
sauteed onions and bell peppers and steak (with guacamole on the side).
And of course a glass of homemade lemonade (Pablo's specialty).

We woke up Thursday morning to see the Arenol Volcano in the distance
(Costa Rica's most active volcano).

Happy baby eating banana in his "baby feeder."

Grace helping Pablo with dishes.

Practicing strategy

That's one way to do it!

At the Birthday celebration for Yalile
(Pablo's wife celebrated her 50th birthday on the Feast of Fatima)

Chicken, potato, salad & lime (muy rico = very yummy!)

More meat please :)

Yalile & Pablo

Felicity making friends (children are the best missionaries!)

Family photo: Left to right Rodrigo (Pablo's father),
Pablo, Flor (Yalile's sister), Celia (Yalile's mother),
Yalile (front), Victor (Pablo's son), (middle row) Monica (Pablo's daughter),
Erika (Pablo's daughter), Pablo Francesco (Pablito - Pablo's son)
and Luz Maria (Lucy - Pablo's daughter).

Climbing trees like her sister!

Pablo coaches a volleyball team and here he is
giving the children some pointers.

Our first day here we drank fresh coconut water
straight from the coconut off Pablo's tree!

coconuts! Some are orange and some are green.

A Beautiful Place

We are surrounded by beauty here in our temporary home with the Rigioni Family. They are a beautiful family and you can see how much they love one another and the Lord. They have opened their hearts and their home to us as we get used to the culture and language of Costa Rica. Here are some pictures of this amazing and beautiful place!
